Dimitra Milan

DImitra Milan is a 16-year-old girl whose whimsical and surreal artwork reflects a dreamy world where anything is possible. In my opinion, her artworks are very feminine and fantasy. Women, animals, nature and music seem to be part of her paintings. However, what amazed me the most is that she managed to develop her own unique style after she started painting for only 4 years. This shows her love and appreciation for painting is real.

According to the interview with Dimitra Milan, it is told that her parents are established artists as well, and she was raised to have appreciation for art. She loves animal, she has animal pets such as horse, dairy goat and such. She confessed that she really feels like she is living the dream and feel blessed everyday. Dimitra Milan also mentioned that the most important advice that her parents gave her was :" You don't always have to be in a mood to paint. You just paint. Everyday, for eight to nine hours straight just like any other career choice. Like everything else in life, it's hard work, passion, and commitment that will make you successful. ". Not only they told her these, but they also demonstrate it in their own life and art careers. It is no wonder that I get inspired by a 16-year-old girl after learning more about her!

Dimitra Milan also said that she used to quit and move on to something new whenever she became stuck on a painting and didn't know how to resolve it. But now, she realized that, in order to become more skilled, she needs to confront her comfort zones and push through the wall that's blocking her because a breakthrough is on the other side. I believe this part of Dimitra Milan can be a good lesson to not only painters but also everyone in the world.

Ozabu

Ozabu is an artist who draws soft and smooth drawings that are related to Japanese extracts with mechanical pencil. Ozabu's drawings are usually very light and soft. Just like Dimitra Milan, Ozabu's passion for arts was big influence by her parents. However, as a self-taught artist, Ozabu did not use any reference books nor does any research on what the other artists use to draw and such. Instead, Ozabu would see a piece in person and analyze it, teaching herself the technique and trying out different tools until she understands how the piece was created.      I have realized that Ozabu often draws gory drawings, some of them even reminded me of "death" even though her drawings are very beautiful. According to the interview, Ozabu's inspirations often come from her feelings and experiences, and she experienced death of someone important in her life. Therefore, her drawings included some funeral elements as they are gre...

Jack Storms  --- Optical Crystal Sculptures       Jack Storms is a Fine Art Glass Artist who designs glass sculptures (cold glass sculptures). According to Jack Storms, he created these glass sculptures without using any heat at all, all he does is grinding and it took a lot more time. It usually take him about 8-18 weeks from start to the end for each artwork. Jack Storms made glass sculptures using water, and some concepts of physics such as refractive index. He also added that his artworks cast color shadow, and it reflects the colors.      In my opinion , Jack Storms is an artist who is confident in his path of choice, he has his own perspective and I found that as an attractive point of him as an fine artist. He confessed that a lot of people asked him what his artworks mean to him , he felt that it's not the right question . His question is what his artworks mean to the people who are going to receive these ar...
