Mad Father

Mad Father is a pixel horror game , as the name suggested , the whole story revolves around a girl named Aya and her father , a mad scientist who is 'a little bit' mentally broke down . In the game , it is believed that the main character's mother died of a sickness long time ago . On the night before the anniversary of her mother's death , she was told by her father to go to bed earlier as he has still some work to do , which is performing secret researches in laboratory in the house basement together with the maid ( or assistant ) , Maria . At midnight , her father's scream pierced through the silence and Aya went out of her room to check , but little did she know that zombies are at everywhere in the mansion . Aya has to survive by escaping from the zombies and throughout the gameplay , the player gets to learn the truth , the dark secret in this family. The game has 3 different endings depending on the player's choices . Will the dead that roam the manor engulf Aya? Will she cower and escape the mansion with the family assistant, Maria? Or will she carry on and save her father, realizing that she has made a drastic mistake that cannot be undone...

Aya's father (climax of the game)

In my opinion , this game has a beautiful story at some points due to the characters such as Maria , and the dead boy who tried to help Aya for several times , Dio . Even so , this game can be saddening at times due to the cruel plot twist or 'dark secret' of this family . For example , at some points of the game , it is revealed that Aya's mother did not die of sickness but was murdered by Aya's father .

The soul of Aya's mother
Besides , I can still never grasp the true ending of the game , you can say that I was confused by the ending because I did not understand Aya's character by the end of the game where she seems to be following her dad's footsteps , which is 'stealing' the beauty of humans , making living humans into dolls , and such . And the ending ends with Maria saying " It must run in the family .  " .  Therefore , I am not that satisfied with the ending of the story as I expected Aya to continue being the kind-hearted girl especially after witnessing the cruel works done by her father .

The after ending
 (True Ending)
But if you analysed some of the flashbacks in the game , Aya had always been 'cruel' to animals , which is her rabbit pet , Snowball ever since she was younger . Based on some of the flashbacks , it is shown that there are couple of jars with dead rabbits inside and it is concluded that all of the dead rabbits could have been the "Snowball " . It is also believed that Aya could be mistreating her rabbit and ended up hurting Snowball , her father created the clones of the white rabbit in order to replace Snowball . It was probably in Aya's nature to have the same interest in living bodies like her father does , yet it is still sad to learn that even when we believed her to be a kind soul .

Dead rabbits in jar (Believed all of them to be Snowball ) and the original Snowball is in one of them.

To be honest , I wanted Dio ( the boy murdered by Aya's father long time ago ) and Aya to be together as there are some scenes in the game that gave us hopes that they are attracted to each other. But the deads can't be survived so I suppose it won't be happening as well . It is rather sad to see that Aya to be someone crueler than we thought she would be , especially after Dio hoping her to be a kind person unlike her father . Sometimes , it makes me wonder what would Dio thinks if he looks at the grown up Aya who does the same job as her father did before .

Ozabu

Ozabu is an artist who draws soft and smooth drawings that are related to Japanese extracts with mechanical pencil. Ozabu's drawings are usually very light and soft. Just like Dimitra Milan, Ozabu's passion for arts was big influence by her parents. However, as a self-taught artist, Ozabu did not use any reference books nor does any research on what the other artists use to draw and such. Instead, Ozabu would see a piece in person and analyze it, teaching herself the technique and trying out different tools until she understands how the piece was created.      I have realized that Ozabu often draws gory drawings, some of them even reminded me of "death" even though her drawings are very beautiful. According to the interview, Ozabu's inspirations often come from her feelings and experiences, and she experienced death of someone important in her life. Therefore, her drawings included some funeral elements as they are gre...
Cuong NguYen      Cuong NguYen is a figurative artist who is famous for painting realistic human portraits . It is said that his sometimes romantic and sometimes mysterious portraits and still life paintings reflect his positive outlook and determination to persevere . This is what makes him different from majority of the artists even though he had gone through hardships and poverty . Nowadays , Cuong NguYen works in both oil paints and pastels , he has reached a level where he can achieve smoothness of gradation  in using pastels without using blender at all . In oils , he aims for realism that never crosses the line to photographic . People see his paintings in a way that they reveal a fundamentally optimistic view of the world and a sense of wonder towards the beauty that surrounds us .      In my opinion , Cuong Nguyen has trained himself to hold a good sense of colors and which helped him to achieve the realism he wants to show in his painting...
