 SHAWN COSS's  InkTober 2016  ( https://www.facebook.com/ShawnCossArtrocities/?fref=ts )

InkTober has brought me to an artist named Shawn Coss , what fascinates me about him is that he started doing series of mental illness for InkTober 2016 . As there are 31 days in October , he has done 31 drawings about mental illness as well . Shawn Coss owns a facebook page for his artworks. He confessed that he wants to increase the awareness on mental illness . He stated : Was unaware that Mental Health Awareness was this month, but a fan suggested for inktober that I shine some light on mental issues of varied kinds. Here's the first 10 days so far. If you need help, don't be afraid to ask.". He has done different drawings based on various kinds of mental illness . In my opinion, his drawings on mental illness have raised awareness of people on mental illness as they let us understand more about the mental illnesses, how does it happen, what does it feel like, etc. Even though we can’t completely grasp the agony other people have to gone through for mental illness , we still can learn more about the illness and try helping people with the illness out.

Insomia

Misophonia

Dissociative Identity Disorder

There were people who did not like the idea of Shawn Coss drawing mental illness, some have made comments on is Facebook post, saying that he is making fun of the people who have mental illness and drawing them into monsters . However , there are people out there who love to see more of Shawn Coss’s artworks and even thanked him for doing Mental Illness drawings .Well, it seems to me that he is drawing the mental illness ITSELF in his artworks , not the people who suffer from mental illness. In my opinion , I believe that doing drawings about mental illness was a great idea in order to let people understand more about each other and the illnesses that harm us. I did not know that there were this many mental illnesses till I see his drawings and I have started thinking that some people may have mental illness which is less obvious to be noticed as well, or rather, it is not serious to the point where it could be noticed.Still , we humans need to be positive and healthy so that we would not get infected by the mental illnesses.

Ozabu

Ozabu is an artist who draws soft and smooth drawings that are related to Japanese extracts with mechanical pencil. Ozabu's drawings are usually very light and soft. Just like Dimitra Milan, Ozabu's passion for arts was big influence by her parents. However, as a self-taught artist, Ozabu did not use any reference books nor does any research on what the other artists use to draw and such. Instead, Ozabu would see a piece in person and analyze it, teaching herself the technique and trying out different tools until she understands how the piece was created.      I have realized that Ozabu often draws gory drawings, some of them even reminded me of "death" even though her drawings are very beautiful. According to the interview, Ozabu's inspirations often come from her feelings and experiences, and she experienced death of someone important in her life. Therefore, her drawings included some funeral elements as they are gre...
Cuong NguYen      Cuong NguYen is a figurative artist who is famous for painting realistic human portraits . It is said that his sometimes romantic and sometimes mysterious portraits and still life paintings reflect his positive outlook and determination to persevere . This is what makes him different from majority of the artists even though he had gone through hardships and poverty . Nowadays , Cuong NguYen works in both oil paints and pastels , he has reached a level where he can achieve smoothness of gradation  in using pastels without using blender at all . In oils , he aims for realism that never crosses the line to photographic . People see his paintings in a way that they reveal a fundamentally optimistic view of the world and a sense of wonder towards the beauty that surrounds us .      In my opinion , Cuong Nguyen has trained himself to hold a good sense of colors and which helped him to achieve the realism he wants to show in his painting...
